The Positive People Project

Positive People

Inspired to Achieve (i2a) have been subcontracted by Pluss as one of the partners to deliver the Positive People project. Positive People offers a lifeline to build hope, confidence and skills for people who are not in work. It is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund.

The project will allow Pluss and its partners to support people with disabilities, mental health issues, ex-offenders, troubled families, and black, Asian and ethnic minority groups over the next three years. The programme will focus on promoting social inclusion, and driving local jobs and growth.

I2a will be working with partners to tackle multiple needs to improve employability across the Somerset Heart of the South West LEP area.

We will:-

  • help participants to improve their confidence, health and wellbeing
  • work with people who face multiple barriers to enter the labour market
  • provide support to help participants to address barriers and access education, training and/or employment
  • work with Cosmic to support people to improve their IT skills.

Positive People will support hundreds of disadvantaged people across Somerset into sustainable employment.

Securing the funds to deliver this programme is a proud moment for all five organisations. Our Somerset partnership will deliver significant positive social change at a time when local devolution means Somerset is taking on more responsibility for its own future."

Pluss’ Chief Executive, Steve Hawkins.

One week today and I'll be speaking @CIH_Housing about professionalising housing. We all have such rewarding roles and housing should be recognised as a profession in it's own right. I'll be talking about what @yarlingtonhg does. What do you do? #proudtobeprofessional
